Position Summary:
The Loan Collateral Operations Officer is responsible for the oversight of the bank’s loan collateral program, managing collateral risk through data integrity and monitoring loan collateral, insurance tracking and force placed programs. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, oversees the dissemination of critical information, and adheres to service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the end-to-end processing of collateral perfection, maintenance, releases insurance tracking and force placed policies.
- Manage the movement of collateral including pledging, substitution, and release of assets.
- Reviews evidence of insurance and insurance reporting for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform valuations of collateral portfolios to ensure compliance with banking agreements.
- Manage vendor accounts to ensure order, tracking and work product accuracy.
- Addresses escalated or time-sensitive issues, disputes, and requests to facilitate processes.
- Assumes responsibility for special projects, gathers data and prepares reports for senior management, audit and other personnel.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to service level agreements.
- Propose and implement changes to meet enterprise policies and increase efficiency.
- Participate in the review and recommendation of operational systems and procedures affecting collateral and insurance.
- Resolve collateral issues both internally and with bank customers in a professional manner.
- Business owner of data and system solution for collateral management and reporting.
- Responsible for talent management functions including employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training and disciplinary actions.
- Serve as the primary contact of contact for internal clients and counterparties regarding collateral-related inquiries.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adheres specifically to all Bank policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.
- Responsible for following regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering or other unlawful activities.
- Performs scanning and indexing of documentation as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
General Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in collateral management, loan operations, or insurance management in commercial and retail lending.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a leadership role.
- Knowledgeable in Jack Henry Silverlake Core Processing, LaserPro and Sageworks Abrigo preferred.
- Experience managing multiple tasks while delivering the highest level of customer service with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of computer systems as they relate to bank lending activities, including Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel and Outlook, is a must.
- Ability to lead and influence change, develop innovative solutions and build effective partnerships.
- Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings, continuations, terminations, Mortgages, Deeds of Trust, Title Policies, and all types of insurance including flood.
- Detail oriented, responsive, and proactive. Fosters clarity, transparency, consistency, and widespread understanding across the bank.
- Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Excel, Outlook is a must.

- Comfort in a fast-paced, complex environment with ability to solve problems collaboratively through open and constructive discussion.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds.
