Position Summary:
The SBA Closing Support Specialist is responsible for providing ongoing back-up to the GGL/SBA Team, particularly the SBA Closers. This position improves efficiencies within the SBA loan production life cycle. This role requires developing and maintaining a customer-focused relationship with SBA partners, borrowers, vendors and closing attorneys by exhibiting a high level of collaboration, timely communication and prompt response to inquiries. This position is involved from the credit approval stage through the closing and boarding/booking stage as well as post close audit and servicing of all SBA loans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inputs all data entry through LaserPro, ETRAN, Silverlake and other systems.
- Manages an assigned portion of loan pipeline information and progression.
- Insures all loan files are electronically filed and imaged properly per both Bank and SBA requirements, as well as maintaining hard original files in 10 tab format.
- Responsible for booking and post-closing audit and tracking of loan exceptions for each loan file.
- Responsible for coordinating all borrowers and closing attorneys with gathering of all checklist items required for closing.
- Works closely with Accounting to insure G/L entries are reconciled in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for all administrative aspects of Loan Closing and Servicing.
- Maintains funding logs for all Construction and Multi-Funding Loans.
- Adheres specifically to all Bank policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
General Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs and products.
- Must be proficient in all Dogwood State Bank SBA systems after appropriate training.
- Must be well organized, can work with minimal supervision to achieve stated goals and duties.
- Must have effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must have the ability to work in a high volume back-room with hard deadlines.
- Strong critical thinking, organization, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills with an attention-to-detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, meet strict timelines, and interact effectively at all levels.
- Proficiency with Widows PC environment and Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on Excel.
- Solid project management skills.
Physical Demands
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, and bend. A valid driver’s license is required. Must have the ability to work the days and hours required to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
