Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health status.
- Diagnose illnesses and injuries, developing appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, including routine spays/neuters and emergency surgeries.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as prescribed.
- Provide critical care for animals in need of urgent medical attention.
- Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary terminology.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Experience
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- State licensure to practice veterinary medicine.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients regarding their pets' health needs.
