What you will do as a Casting Operator :
- Grease zerks, inspect for issues, and check spray tanks before startup
- Keep the machine and work area clean; report oil leaks or problems
- Grease and properly assemble dies before use; clean dies at shift end
- Follow written procedures for die setups and get supervisor approval
- Inspect parts for quality issues (e.g., flashing, blisters, non-fills)
- Ensure no parts are left in the die before producing another
- Report tool or die damage and safety issues to the supervisor
- Complete shop papers with production, scrap, and downtime data
- Communicate problems, ideas, and updates with the supervisor
- Brief the next shift operator and ensure proper machine shutdown if not running the next shift
