What you’ll do as a Finishing Operator :
- Serve as the leader of the team during make-ready, operation, and maintenance
- Maintain specific size tolerances and print-to-cut tolerances
- Operate equipment to achieve maximum productivity while keeping waste levels to a minimum
- Consistently monitor size and print to cut variation to stay within allowable tolerances. Identify defects, imperfections, and defects
- Perform routine maintenance on machines as needed
- Identify, recommend, and implement areas for Lean improvement / modification
- Participate in continuous improvement teams focusing on Lean methodologies
- Assist in the implementation and sustainment of standard work, 6s, and mistake-proofing in assigned areas
- Assist with quality process including identifying and reporting issues and defects in a timely manner
- Consistently utilize resources to maximize cost reduction / cost control efforts
- Assist with experimental functions to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials as directed
- Work closely with co-workers, Quality Assurance personnel, and supervisors regarding the control of the operation and quality of the product being produced
- Work directly with the Finishing Lead, Production Manager, and Quality Assurance personnel on approvals and quality checks
- Perform quality checks and inspect for defective products prior to and throughout the production run
