What a Sheet Metal Worker will do :
- Perform fabrication and assembly of aircraft floats
- Form material to match blueprint specifications or sample parts, following instructions
- Operate equipment and utilizes common hand tools to manufacture and assemble parts
- Inspect all parts for cleanliness and defects
- Record time in ERP software and signs off work order for each process of assembly
- Select appropriate raw materials and prefabricated parts to perform moderately complex fabrication and assembly of aircraft parts and assemblies
- Interpret specifications, drawings, and / or sample parts to determine machine adjustments and material processing requirements
- Identify and perform processes needed for fabrication and assembly
- Inspect all parts and assemblies for cleanliness and conformity
- Maintain traceability of material and parts issued to jobs, returning unused material through proper procedures
- Follow engineering drawings and specifications to install, connect, or bond aircraft parts using adhesives, rivets, or threaded fasteners
- Prepare and use jigs or fixtures to aid in locating, bonding, or drilling aircraft parts
