Job Description:
Doherty Steel, Inc. is a top steel fabrication and erection company based in Paola, Kansas, with a 165,000 sq ft facility.
The primary function of the Senior Estimator is to provide accurate bid proposals and scope analysis for potential projects.
Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, specifications, and other documents to successfully bid jobs at a profit.
Key performance indicators include:
- Ability to quantify labor and material costs on a project
- Negotiating with customers and communicating with DSI staff
- Working with the Project Manager following a successful bid, to ensure an accurate transferring of information and defining of scope, including revisions, additions, and deletions
- Continuing to work with Project Management on pricing issues pertaining to the bid or to revisions
A strong understanding of purchasing, labor, equipment, and transportation costs is essential.
Computer skills in Tekla EPM PowerFab are highly preferred.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is desired.
Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 per year for Senior Level
