About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Technician to join our team at Doherty | The Employment Experts. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing custom electromechanical equipment, automated work cells, vision systems, and multi-axis robotics.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Troubleshooting and maintaining complex electromechanical systems
- Reviewing and analyzing PLC programs for effective troubleshooting
- Developing and implementing technical activities to improve production processes
- Managing daily tasks and communicating progress to relevant teams
- Creating robotic programs to optimize operational efficiency
- Providing training and support to other technical staff members
Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:
- A two-year post-high school diploma or certificate in a technical trade, or a high school diploma/GED with four years of related automation experience
- Familiarity with electrical and pneumatic schematics
- Knowledge of PLC programs and their applications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Technical expertise in manufacturing processes of mechanical systems
