Qualified or Certified by Massachusetts Department of Education.
MSN PreK – 8
Master’s Degree preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing the needs of students on IEPs; many of which have overall weaknesses in both ELA and math.
- Making modifications and accommodations within the regular education classroom.
- Designing and implementing lessons in accordance with student IEPs as well as managing paraprofessional support with student caseload.
- Must have skills in breaking down curriculum into manageable steps while integrating self-advocacy and self-determination skills into task completion.
- Motivate students by counseling to develop abilities and talents.
Experience and Skills:
- Adapting assignments to different learning styles.
- Differentiating instruction.
- Good interpersonal skills to effectively work with a team.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Writing IEPs, particularly solid goals and objectives.
- Administering and reporting on assessments including the WJR-III and WIAT.
- Experience using data for progress monitoring.
- Compliance aspects around Special Education regulations
- Training in systematic phonetic based reading programs such as Lips, Wilson.
- Training in programs such as Project Read, Read Naturally, Great Leaps, Framing your Thoughts, Empower.
- Experience in Building high level of need service models within the public school setting.
