What are the responsibilities and job description for the 12 Pallet Forklift Driver position at Dole Food Company, Inc.?
GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The position is responsible for unloading incoming raw product using a 12-pallet forklift, cool, monitor and store pallets inside the cooler when pallets come out of the vacuum tubes. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and possess a strong work ethic.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
- Load empty bins or material truck back on trucks.
- Offload raw material product from field haul trucks
- Take material to and from the cooling tubes
- Take cooled material/product to the cold room to store
- Maintaining proper documentation for all activity including daily rundown
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and perform any task assigned by management
- Other duties as assigned, such as Repacking product
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
- English skills required, bilingual preferred.
- Mathematical skills and logical thought process required.
- Ability to communicate with tube operators and coordinate product to cool
- Prioritize product incoming from the fields onto their designated cooling tube
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment collaborating with co-workers and management
- Must be able to work any shift and be able to work in an environment of 34-36 degrees
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, and 20 lbs overhead as job demands. Will have some exposure to fumes and airborne particles. Time will be spent outdoors in the receiving area, refrigerated (cold), loud (ear protection required) work environment.
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays
- Flexibility to work varied hours is required
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
PAY RATE: $17.02 /hr
