Overview
The Maintenance Team Leader will provide reliable and enthusiastic leadership demonstrating skills and experience as a Maintenance Team Leader. Directing technically skilled personnel through daily activities as well as upcoming projects, which includes working directly with manager, planner and leads. The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for daily correspondence to the Maintenance Manager of critical items with information on cost and timeline. Adhere to all procedures and practices associated with Food Safety, Food Security and Food Quality. Assist with the training and implementation of all practices and procedures associated with Food Safety, Food Security and Food Quality.
Responsibilities
- Provide Maintenance support to Production for fulfillment of facility strategies, goals and objectives with continuous monitoring of plant floor activities and downtime.
- Plan preventative/predictive maintenance and overhaul activities in pursuit of primary objectives to minimize unscheduled downtime and high utilization staff resources.
- Provide on-going training and development incentives to maintenance personnel and production operators that promote the generalist concept to achieve improved efficiencies. Develops and conducts effective employee training programs. Promotes safe work practices and continuous learning of staff.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities. Plays a key role in capital project conceptualization, development, and implementation.
- Continuous improvements with cutting edge technology utilizing external education programs or seminars for applications to improve Maintenance performance and reliability.
- Assign and set priorities, create and manage work orders, delegate work, help maintain parts inventories, conduct investigations or research, write technical, informative, or operational reports, work on special projects, and attend and conduct meetings.
- Diagnose, analyze, investigate, and correct most causes of malfunction of facilities and utilities equipment.
- Oversight of plant/facility maintenance and technicians on assigned shift.
- Leads and participates in the design and fabrication of a variety of brackets, supports and other metal structures, using torches, welding equipment and other fabrication equipment.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures.
- Use data (CMMS, Helios) and observations to analyze problems and develop alternative solutions.
- Work with Operations, Planning, Engineering and Management to implement best practices.
- Follow all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
- Familiar with a variety of the concepts, practices, and procedures of fresh to frozen processing and packaging.
- Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job and perform as a member of a team
- Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and/or holidays
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to work in areas of varying temperatures (temperatures ambient to 40 degrees Farenheit)
- Maintain good housekeeping and clean work area

Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as box markings, labels, schedules, safety rules, GMP’s and general instructions.
- Strong knowledge of various components used in cold storage, food processing, and facility equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- SAP experience preferred, or able to learn SAP applications.
- Advanced electronic trouble shooting and repair of control systems, HMI, PLC, VFD diagnostic and/or programming.
- Proficient with use of electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing process and equipment
- Working knowledge of GMP’s within a food manufacturing facility.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to comply with all applicable safety and food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a high paced environment
- Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
- Must be at least 18 years old
