General Summary:
To track capital projects and input completed projects into asset management system.
Job Details
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assign classification and processes all capital expenditures for administrative and distribution cost centers.
- Track capital spending by project and invoice.
- Verifies fixed asset system detail to general ledger including computing and preparing any general ledger entries necessary.
- Assist in monthly close of the asset management system by performing reconciliations of clearing accounts.
- Communicate with other departments regarding project status, disposals, etc.
- Provide monthly reports of fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers to management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and fixed asset systems.
- Able to prioritize in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
- Acts independently, recognizes and resolves issues, proactively.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills to build interdepartmental relationships.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications
Work Experience &/or Education:
- High School diploma required.
- A.S. in accounting preferred.
- 3 – 5 years experience in accounting preferred.
