General Summary:
Dollar General is required to file federal, state, and local income tax returns. The individual in this position is responsible for assisting the income tax manager and tax directors in the gathering of data, preparation, and the filing of all income tax returns. This position is also responsible for conducting tax research, assisting with income tax accounting under ASC 740, and assisting with tax planning modeling.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of all state and local income tax return workpapers, income tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments. Maintain the Company’s files for these items. Maintain an income tax related due date listing and documents compliance with the due dates.
- Assist the income tax manager and tax director with income tax planning computations and related implementation, income tax audits and responses to notices, and other special projects as requested.
- Assist tax director with quarterly analysis of fixed assets and calculation of tax depreciation.
- Assist the preparation of the quarterly/annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740.
- Assist with the preparation of estimated payments and keying of ACH payments.
- Review all Company annual reports & fictitious name application & renewals.

Work Experience &/or Education:
- Three years of work experience in an accounting position.
- Bachelors degree in accounting required.
- Tax compliance experience required.
- ASC 740 experience preferred.
