We are seeking an experienced Store Perishable Department Manager to oversee the perishable departments in our West Milford store. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing inventory, training associates, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Manage perishable stock levels based on store volume using various tools such as current ads, planners, produce order guides, and vendor order guides.
- Training and Development: Train assigned associates in proper presentation, freshness, and pricing standards for all perishable areas. Ensure associates understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Cash Handling and Security: Assist the Store Manager in ensuring cash accountability, key control, and adherence to company security practices and cash control procedures.
- Customer Service: Maintain daily contact with customers to understand merchandise expectations and desires. Assist the Store Manager in ensuring that customers' needs are routinely addressed in an efficient and timely manner.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Experience: One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred. Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience highly desired.
- Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, perform mathematical calculations, and review operating statements. Knowledge of cash handling procedures, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
