Your Role at our Distribution Center:
As the Human Resources (HR) Manager, you’ll provide guidance and support to the operational leadership team. You will lead a team responsible for all HR functions at our large, complex, automated, and high-volume retail distribution center, which operates multiple shifts. You’ll also serve as the brand ambassador in the local community, provide both strategic and tactical guidance with a true generalist scope, and partner with the business to create and execute a plan for success. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership:
· Serve as the primary HR business partner to DC leadership, providing counsel and strategic influence on all people-related matters
· Drive key HR objectives and continuous improvement initiatives within the DC, aligning with overall company strategy
· Advise and influence senior leaders on talent management strategies, including leadership development, engagement, strategic staffing, succession planning, training, performance management, and compliance
· Lead initiatives to foster a positive, productive, and union-free work environment.
· Analyze HR metrics (turnover, productivity, attendance, safety) to identify trends, recommend solutions, and drive data-informed decision-making
· Collaborate with SSC and DC partners on continuous improvement initiatives
· Build strong community relationships, promote a positive employment brand, and stay informed on local issues impacting the DC
Talent Acquisition & Development:
· Lead the hourly and exempt staffing process, developing innovative sourcing strategies, building talent pools, and improving time-to-fill
· Champion a culture of development that establishes routines, personally develops leaders, and ensures robust succession plans
· Oversee onboarding and training programs, empowering leaders and associates to build high-performing teams
· Lead, coach, and develop a team of HR professionals
· Foster open communication and information sharing between leaders and associates
· Effectively influence others, serving as a role model and team leader
HR Operations & Administration:
· Oversee the HR team to ensure accurate and timely administration of payroll, benefits, attendance tracking, performance management, and records maintenance
· Minimize Workers' Compensation and accident/incident costs by promoting a safe work environment and a safety-conscious workforce
· Maintain a high level of confidentiality
· Provide guidance and ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures
· Lead and conduct internal investigations, including harassment, theft, and EEOC charges, recommending appropriate action
· Manage employee relations issues effectively, partnering with associates and leaders to resolve concerns
· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
Your Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or SPHR certification
· 5 to 7 years of experience leading the HR function for a large-volume, complex retail distribution or fulfilment center with at least 200 associates highly preferred
· Previous supervisory experience and in-depth working knowledge of HR functions including a strong understanding, knowledge, and interpretive ability regarding employment law
· Must have knowledge of state/federal employment/labor laws and regulations
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage hourly and salaried Team Members
· Previous training experience is highly desirable
· Previous experience with Microsoft Office Products and HRIS systems is required
· Must have strong analytical ability to gather, interpret, and disseminate information, as well as develop, record, and implement solutions
· Ability to travel up to 25% of the time with occasional overnight stays
