The Social Media Content Creator drives and enhances The Dollywood Company’s marketing efforts by creating accurate, compelling and relevant content for social media and digital media formats. This role is responsible for working collaboratively with the Social Media Manager in the day-to-day creation of content including, but not limited to, photography, videography and written content for the Dollywood Parks and Resorts brands, as well as, Pink Jeep Tours. The Social Media Content Creator also occasionally serve as an on-staff photographer and videographer to gather content for traditional media outreach, as well as other marketing channels including the Dollywood website, in-park signage, marketing literature, etc. The Creator must achieve these goals in a manner consistent with the mission, values and operating philosophies and standards of the Dollywood Company.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.
Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- You’ll write, shoot and edit social media content for social editorial calendars across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and emerging platforms under direction and assistance of Social Media Manager
- You’ll work closely with the Social Media Manager to tell written and visual stories across all social channels that align with social strategy and appropriate brand voice
- You’ll maintain an eye for emerging social trends, plus pitch and execute content ideas related to trends and relevant cultural conversations
- You’ll stay up to date with new platform features and social media tools and work them into your ongoing content
- You’ll use discretion while assisting Social Media Manager as marketing team subject matter expert on social media presence, content creation and community monitoring
- You’ll maintain a solid grasp of relevancy as it relates to The Dollywood Company, the theme park/amusement and hospitality industries and the community (local, regional and global)
- You’ll maintain a thorough understanding of the Dollywood Company and Dolly Parton brands, to formulate internal and external written and video communications that position the Dollywood Company experience as unique, authentic and one-of-a-kind
- You’ll tell digital stories around some PR publicity events by capturing and editing content from events including, but not limited to: product announcements, Dolly Parton appearances, park openings, media endearment events, industry events, media production/on-site photo/video shoots
- You’ll promote the various properties in a number of settings as a public face of The Dollywood Company
- You’ll support the Dollywood Marketing plan by being a dedicated team player, approaching tasks with an open mind, embracing creative thinking, and respecting the ideas of other team members
- You’ll assist as needed with major PR publicity events including, but not limited to: product announcements, Dolly Parton appearances, park openings, media endearment events, industry events, media production/on-site photo/video shoots

Education and Experience Required
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, marketing, or related field
- A suggested, but not required, minimum of one year working in social media/digital marketing disciplines
- An understanding of photography/videography and appropriate editing techniques
- A work portfolio that demonstrates an understanding of social media content, photography/videography experience and appropriate editing techniques
- An understanding of culture through social media and how to use it in branded social content
- A passion for using audience and brand insights to create content that speaks to existing new audiences across various platforms to increase brand awareness, engagement and brand advocacy
- A collaborative approach to content ideation and creation, and a willingness to both give and receive constructive feedback around the content ideation, capturing and editing process
- A passion for visual storytelling, especially as it relates to short-form videos
- Experience with writing and creating content for social media is required
- Experience with graphic design and video editing in Adobe or related software is required
- Experience in the theme park, hospitality and/or tourism industry is a plus
- Experience with graphic design in Adobe or related software is required
- Experience with common office software such as Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a TN driver’s license and state required auto insurance
