Position : Volunteer & Community Engagement Specialist
Program : SFILEN
Reports to : Program Manager
Compensation : $57,000 non-exempt position Full-Time. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending account, commuter benefits, paid holiday, paid sick leave, generous vacation with Summer Recess and Winter Recess, and 401(K) with employer matching.

Position Overview :
Mission Action seeks a full-time Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator to develop and support the volunteer and community engagement structure for our Rapid Response Hotline . The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with experience in volunteer coordination, training, and community organizing . Strong collaboration, organizational skills, and fluency in Spanish (preferred) are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Engagement
- Recruitment & Outreach :
Identify and develop volunteer opportunities.
Develop and deliver comprehensive orientation programs.
Manage volunteer schedules and coordinate logistics for activities in partnership with legal and outreach teams.
Ensure volunteers stay informed on political and immigration-related developments.
Maintain accurate volunteer records, track participation and hours, and generate reports to assess program impact.
Cultivate relationships with volunteers, community leaders, and partner organizations.
Community & Media Relations
Develop and manage content for social media, blogs, and informational materials related to Hotline activity, ICE enforcement, and community engagement.
Manage media inquiries, draft press releases, and coordinate interviews.
Track key engagement metrics (e.g., website traffic, social media reach, event attendance).
