Reports To: Food & Beverage Manager
Job description:
The Host is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment for guests, managing reservations, seating arrangements, and ensuring smooth front-of-house operations.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Greet guests with a friendly smile and prompt, welcoming attitude.

Manage OpenTable reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments to optimize flow and guest satisfaction.

Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus, and informing them of any specials.

Maintain accurate guest count and inform waiting guests of approximate wait times.

Answer incoming phone calls and assist with reservations or inquiries.

Ensure that all menus are clean, current, and well-stocked.

Keep the host station upstairs and downstairs clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies.

Assist with monitoring and coordinating table turnover to minimize wait times.

Communicate guest requests or needs to servers and management as appropriate.

Adhere to all company policies regarding health, safety, and food handling procedures.

Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally and inform the Manager on Duty for prompt resolution.

Ensure the front-of-house is clean, orderly, and aesthetically pleasing.

Assist with special seating arrangements for large parties or special events.

Assist servers, bussers, and other front-of-house staff as needed.

Maintain a professional appearance and follow dress code guidelines at all times.

Maintain chalkboard appearance and specials assigned by management.

Comply with Dolphin Hotel and River Street Inn policies at all times.

Complete or perform any additional tasks assigned by Restaurant or Hotel Management.

Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in a customer service or front-of-house role preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to:
