Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Director of Human Resources to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably within the hospitality industry. This position will report directly to the Director of Human Resources and will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive work environment, enhancing team performance, managing HR operations, and providing HR support towards achieving the overall strategic goals of the organization. This position is on-site at The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements.

- Assist in the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives.
- Support the recruitment and selection process, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new hires.
- Foster a culture of respect, teamwork, and collaboration through effective communication, recognition events, and team-building activities.
- Manage employee relations issues, addressing any staff concerns and ensuring a positive workplace atmosphere.
- Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and feedback mechanisms.
- Assist in the development, facilitation, and administration of training programs to enhance employee skills and career development.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop succession planning strategies.
- Manage HR Operations as well as HR transactions throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
- Assist employees with questions and logistics surrounding medical leaves or accommodation requests.
- Maintain HR metrics and reporting to evaluate the effectiveness of HR initiatives and programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience, with a strong preference for candidates with hospitality experience.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong team-building and leadership skills, with a focus on employee engagement.
- Excellent administrative and organizational abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience.
