Position Overview:
The Event Services Supervisor oversees the setup and breakdown of banquet spaces, ensuring all requirements are met for events, meetings, and functions. This role coordinates with various departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, direct and assist the banquet setup team to ensure event spaces are properly arranged according to client specifications, including table settings, decorations, seating arrangements, and audiovisual equipment.
- Ensure adherence to the banquet event orders (BEOs) and that all equipment and supplies are set up in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Banquet Management and event coordinators to confirm setup details and make adjustments as needed.
- Oversee the cleanliness, maintenance, and organization of banquet ballrooms, banquet venues, linen rooms and storage areas.
- Conduct inspections before and after events to ensure setup quality, cleanliness, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage inventory of banquet supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and availability for upcoming events.
- Train, guide, and motivate the banquet setup staff, promoting teamwork and maintaining high service standards.
- Address any last-minute changes or issues that arise during event setups, providing quick and effective solutions.
- Communicate with clients or event organizers to ensure their setup requirements are met and any concerns are addressed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during setup and teardown processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality or event management is a plus.
- Previous experience in banquet setup or hospitality roles, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory position preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, mornings, evenings, overnight, and holidays.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment and furniture as needed.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for event setup and breakdown.
Work Environment:
This position involves physical labor, working in a fast-paced environment, and handling varying event setups. Flexibility with working hours is required due to the nature of banquet operations.
