STEM Instructor (Part-Time, 1099 Contractor)
DomTechAcademy is a dynamic and growing EdTech program focused on bringing coding, robotics, and hands-on STEM education to children and teens aged 5–16. We blend engaging lessons with real-world technology to prepare the next generation of creators, coders, and engineers.
We’re seeking passionate and reliable STEM Instructors to lead our Pre-Coding and Robotics courses for students ages 5–16. Ideal candidates are current undergraduate students in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology. A completed Bachelor’s degree is a plus!
Courses You’ll Teach
Ages 5–10: Pre-Coding with LEGO EV3 (Python & Visual)
- Build & program simple LEGO robots
- Teach movement, loops, sensors, and creative challenges
- Facilitate fun projects like a robot dance party & relay races
Ages 11–16: Python Coding LEGO EV3
- Cover Python basics: variables, input/output, loops, and functions
- Apply coding concepts to robotic challenges like maze solving
- Guide students through hands-on sensor and logic programming
Ages 11–16: Arduino Robotics (C )
- Teach Arduino basics: blinking LEDs, motors, sensors, Bluetooth modules
- Build interactive projects (e.g. Smart Fan, Security System, Smart Car)
- Engage students in real-world tech applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in CS/IT/Engineering
- Comfortable with Python and/or Arduino (C )
- Experience with LEGO EV3, Arduino, or similar educational robotics platforms
- Passion for working with kids & teens
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver 12-week project-based lessons based on provided curriculum
- Support student creativity and encourage teamwork
- Provide feedback and troubleshoot student code/hardware
- Ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment
Eligibility
To work as a 1099 contractor with DomTechAcademy, applicants must have:
- A valid Social Security Number (SSN) OR An Employment Authorization Document (EAD card)
