Description:
The primary responsibility of a Food Runner / Busser is to deliver food from the kitchen to the guest; help expedite food during times when no manager is on the line; maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the expo line. Reset tables in a speedy professional and effective manner as guests leave the restaurant. Food Runner / Bussers are also responsible for the grooming of the entire restaurant and its perimeters, as well as supporting servers and service staff with refills and clearing tables. This position starts at $5 an hour plus tip share which averages out to $13 an hour. We are closed Sunday and Monday and are looking for a candidate who is generally available Tuesday through Saturday. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow into the server position.
Essential functions and responsibilities include the following:
· Prepare runner station at expo line (includes preparation of condiments, salads).
· Check for food quality, proper presentation and consistency when helping expedite.
· Deliver food to guests, explaining each dish, accompanied condiments and how they should be used.
· Know the menu and ingredients.
· Support the server with greeting the guests and bringing water to the table.
· Clear tables after guests. Take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
· Between seating promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.
· Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed.
· Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.
· Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and guest service.
· Assist server as needed, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
· Thank guests as they are leaving.
· Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
· Move and arrange tables in the dining room.
