POSITION SUMMARY:
The Guest Relations Team is responsible for portraying a warm welcome to every guest, setting the tone for an exceptional guest experience, while successfully balancing the flow of guest arrivals and departures with table seating rotation and employee break schedules.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Graciously greets visitors at the front entrance providing a warm welcome and an explanation of our wine service, history, and floor plan.
- Outwardly projects the Company’s brand and commitment to excellence in customer service and communication as the first point of contact with guest and the Visitor Center team.
- Monitors the seating arrangement and orchestrates the flow of guest arrivals, with table availability and expedited seating of guest.
- Utilizes reservation table management software in the administration of efficient and seamless guest seating, updating table status data to expedite service or when unexpected delays or changes occur.
- Works cohesively with the Servers and their Management team to ensure that guest seating is equally distributed among Servers in rotation and is in alignment with the daily staffing, rest and meal break schedules, and the locale of each Server’s designated area.
- Actively monitors seating times so that guest are greeted within a respected timeframe by the Server; Notifying management to assist the Server team to start the table service if delays prevent Server from acknowledging guest within respected timeframe.
- Manages "drop in" or guests that call via telephone with scheduling their experience; Confirms bookings in advance for upcoming reservations.
- Gracefully communicates to guest when there is a delay in seating or if there is no availability during the requested time.
- Responsible for notifying team of guest arrival delays or any changes in scheduling that impacts the Visitor Center workflow.
- Assist in maintaining the appearance of the concierge station, all tasting mats and menus, and the general upkeep of the tasting area as needed.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work conditions in certain areas of the winery and Visitor Center are cold, wet, slippery and/or noisy. Frequent walking, including over uneven ground is required. Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and bend, lift, twist, kneel, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, sometimes for extended periods, and to occasionally lift and carry heavy items up to 40 pounds (may be aided). Ability to operate a keyboard, telephone, photocopier, printer, a 10-key and other usual office equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 6 months experience as a host, concierge, or other customer facing role within a fast paced, high volume, luxury hospitality environment
- Intermediate computer skills; experience navigating through and understanding database and table management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong ability to successfully manage multiple requests simultaneously
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve effectively
- Ability to work a schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and evenings as necessary
- Clean and professional appearance in compliance with the Company dress code
- Ability to portray a warm, welcoming, and gracious demeanor, even under stress and in a high-paced, high-traffic environment
- Excellent communication skills; Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situation, applying courtesy and empathy as necessary
- Knowledge of wines, winemaking, and Napa and Sonoma areas is preferred.
- Must be able to successfully complete Responsible Beverage Service training upon hire and maintain certification throughout employment
The schedule at this time for this position is Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. There is an incentive plan plus tips for this role.
