Position Overview
Title : Finance Manager
Type : Part-Time (Remote)
Hours : 20 hours per week, capped at 80 hours / month
Compensation : $30 / hour ($33,600 / year)
Location : USA-based, ideally in the tristate area (PA, NY, NJ), with a preference for Pennsylvania residents. Will consider the right candidate in other locations.
Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable :
Manage invoicing and collections, including installment plans and tracking restricted / unrestricted donations.
Oversee inner-account transfers and QuickBooks reconciliations.
Track and manage scholarships and related funds.
Create and maintain financial coding systems.
Accounts Payable :
Process payments for contractors and refunds.
Manage bank wires and ensure bills are paid on time.
Monitor bills and loans to ensure timely payments and verify that costs remain reasonable.
Financial Reporting :
Generate weekly reports :
Finance Progress Report (Weekly Income Breakdown)
Expenses Report
Bank Balances Report
Review with leadership on a weekly basis
Prepare monthly financial reports :
Profit & Loss Statement
Balance Sheet
Cashflow Analysis
Conduct yearly reporting and forecasting, including :
Annual forecasts
Gatekeepers Report (expenses per budget line)
Yearly financial analysis
Key Qualifications
2-3 years of relevant financial management experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
Expertise in QuickBooks and accrual accounting.
Awareness of US and Pennsylvania financial and tax laws.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to create and implement efficient systems (e.g., automating payments for installment plans).
Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with clients and team members on calls.
Proven track record of cost reduction and financial optimization.
Proficient in the use of the following tools :
Quickbooks
G-Suite
Excel
