Position Overview :
Domani Inspections is seeking a Full-time candidate for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) & UT Testing Certified to perform quality assurance inspections. The prospective candidate(s) must be experienced in structural steel fabrication inspection code requirements including witnessing and reporting NDT performed.
Job Duties :
- Familiarity and experience with AASHTO / AWS D1.5 / AASHTO / AWS D1.1. Job Opening Description
- Perform third party NYCDOB structural steel fabrication quality assurance inspection and reporting
- Utilize applicable AWS construction specifications
- Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications and project special provisions to verify compliance with material quality
- Ability to work closely with other fabrication, construction and quality personnel in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform Visual (UT) Testing inspection per applicable coded requirements.
- Familiarity with inspecting and reporting high strength (Grade 325) bolts testing (rotational capacity / preinstallation verification) and reporting.
- Familiarity with steel erection.
- Ability to use the following : Laptop computer, cell (smart) phone, scanner and printer
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, internet, report writing, file (photograph and other) attachments.
- Good English Language Verbal & Writing Skills

Compensation
40-50 Hourly. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education / training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
