Qualifications
A high school diploma/equivalency and a two-year degree in a relatable field or four years’ experience working in the domestic violence field is required.
Principal Job Duties
- Works in partnership with the Economic Empowerment Coordinator in developing and implementing an economic empowerment program for survivors accessing services. 25%
- Adapt and deliver the approved economic empowerment curriculum.
- Organize and conduct groups, classes and other facilitated activities to educate and support survivors in economic self-sufficiency.
- Assist survivors with information regarding microloans, micro enterprises, earned income tax credits and matched savings/individual developmental accounts.
- Collaborate with community agencies including, but not limited to: local literacy programs, career centers, dress for success programs and local libraries.
- Develop working relationships and MOU’s with community agencies that can assist with housing or employment options.
- Conduct extensive outreach in the community to assist survivors with local literacy programs, GED programs, English as a Second Language programs and other identified referral sources.
- Develop, implement and train on financial safety planning.
- Provide economic advocacy to survivors.
- Assist survivors in developing a financial plan for their future.
- Assist survivors in developing a budget to support their financials goals.
- Assisting survivors of domestic violence with identifying and securing affordable housing. 35%
- Assist survivors in identifying safe and affordable housing choices.
- Assist with application processes.
- Connect them with community resources that can assist with housing needs.
- Assist in the development of a financial plan around housing and their personal needs.
- Assist them in gather necessary paperwork for application process.
- Assisting survivors of domestic violence with identifying and attaining their employment goals. 30%
- Connect to community resources to assist with professional development.
- Assist with paperwork, application for school or employment.
- Assist with the development of a resume.
- Conduct safety planning around going to school or work.
- Follow all policy and procedures for organization and ensure shelter operating procedures are followed through. 3%
- Maintain data collection program and document all services provided daily.
- Provide services to all residents as outlined in policies and procedures.
- Ensure all grant deliverables and guidelines are met.
- Ensure that all administrative responsibilities are carried out. 2%
- Make copies of needed file items.
- Review files for quality assurance.
- Maintain professional demeanor and appropriate dress at all times.
- Ensure that training hours are maintained each year and reported appropriately to supervisors for documentation in employee files. 3%
- Ensure the facility and work area is safe, clean and free of hazards. 1%
- Complete any other assignments at the direction of the Outreach Manager and/or CEO. 1%
