Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Landscape Manager to oversee landscape operations at various properties. The successful candidate will have previous experience managing landscape teams and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Landscape Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of landscape operations, including ornamental plants, trees, shrubs, groundcovers, grasses, soils, fountains, water features, and hardscapes.
- Plant Care & Maintenance: Manage soil preparation, planting, watering, fertilizing, trimming, and pruning of plants, trees, and shrubs.
- Irrigation System Management: Oversee daily work orders for irrigation adjustments and repairs. Ensure proper watering of all landscape areas.
- Lawn & Hardscape Maintenance: Ensure all lawns are manicured at the correct heights and prune/shape hedges to design.
- Pest & Disease Management: Oversee integrated pest management to control botanical diseases and pests, using organic methods where possible.
- Grounds Cleanliness: Maintain property grounds by managing debris, leaves, and ensuring overall cleanliness.
- Equipment Management: Maintain an organized inventory of all landscape equipment and supplies.
- Vendor & Contractor Relations: Cultivate relationships with vendors and contractors involved in landscaping.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience managing landscape operations in hospitality or private estates is preferred. Experience managing a landscape team of 5 members is required.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a calm, efficient demeanor.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with Google Drive, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and OneNote.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues with discretion.
- Flexibility & Problem-Solving: Must exhibit creativity and problem-solving abilities when dealing with issues that arise.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage various stakeholders.
- Awareness: Knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelines for landscaping.
