JOB SUMMARY
Domico Med-Device is a high product mix, low volume per order manufacturing company. This role is expected to lead with a proactive mindset of “how can we help?”; foster a team focused on safely manufacturing quality products to meet delivery commitments; assure alignment with company priorities. The Team Leader reports directly to a Production Supervisor and is responsible for directing the manufacturing work of Operators in their area(s), serve as a first point for manufacturing related questions from Operators, and serve as primary trainer for new employees. The Team Leader should spend approximately 75% of their time functioning as a Production Operator manufacturing products and 25% of their time providing work direction and people management support.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
- Safety: Ensure a safe work environment for all team members.
- Enforce safety requirements
- Ensure processes are safe, efficient and effective to yield quality outcomes; work to continually improve.
- Manufacture of Products
- Read and understand product requirements to produce quality parts through work orders, work instructions, and blueprints
- Utilize proper housekeeping procedures; keep department clean and always organized
- Follow safe work practices (safety glasses, protective shoes, etc.)
- Accurate use of measuring devices
- Communicate improvement ideas and suggestions to team leaders or management regarding process, procedures, materials, environment, etc.
- Follow directions given
- Properly use materials to maximize production
- Utilize good communication verbally and in writing to communicate with co-workers and management
- Direct Manufacturing
- Direct workflow on daily basis in assigned department(s)
- Oversee the delivery of quality outputs
- Maintain accurate raw material inventories
- Serve as first point for all manufacturing related questions in assigned areas
- Communicate pertinent production related information to personnel in assigned departments, on all shifts, to ensure production continues to flow smoothly and efficiently
- Maintain production boards metrics daily
- Train new personnel or personnel being cross trained in assigned areas, or direct training through another experienced Operator
- Ensure department utilizes proper housekeeping procedures to keep department clean and organized at all times; maintain and improve the current 5S standards
- People Management
- Provide work direction to Operators in assigned areas on manufacturing related tasks
- Provide feedback to Production Supervisor on Operator performance, attitudes, and behavior
- Quality Management
- Utilize and comply with the Quality Management System
- Self inspect parts to ensure quality requirements and specs are met
- Ensure quality at the source by noticing and reporting defects in products or documentation, whether done by the operator or someone else
- Follow proper NCR procedure when a non-conforming part is encountered
