Orange County Defense law firm located in North Orange County is seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of a legal file clerk. This opening currently involves support for our attorneys and litigation assistants. We are looking for a legal file clerk who will provide administrative support to attorneys and case managers. This is an entry level position and we will train the right candidate. Experienced file clerks are also encouraged to apply. The position will offer opportunities to grow legal office skills. The position is part-time (minimum 20 hours per week).
The legal clerk duties includes maintaining client-related files, responsible for organizing records, such as letters, legal documents, and case files; assist in keeping filing up to date; assist with clerical duties when needed such as faxing, copying or scanning in documents.
Duties
- Collect, scan, and file all incoming mail.
- Assist case managers with copying, scanning, mailing, shredding, and faxing documents.
- File court documents.
- Assemble and serve qualified medical evaluation documents and independent medical review applications.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a file clerk or in a similar clerical role is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Experience in workers' compensation law is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and proofreading
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Sense of urgency in completing tasks.
