Job Title : Speech Language Pathologist

Shift : 8-hour shifts, varied start between 6 : 30 AM to 6 : 30 PM, Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week
Experience : Minimum of 2 years of acute experience, 3-5 years preferred
License : Yes, required
Certifications : BLS, COVID Vaccine Required
Must-Have : Experience in ortho, neuro, cardiac; ability to conduct bedside swallow assessments; cognition skills; modified barium swallow studies experience preferred; ICU experience preferred; proficiency in Spanish preferred; open to first-time travelers
Job Description :
- Work within Rehab Therapies, Cardiac Rehab units in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with charge nurse and manager, who are available 7 days a week, mostly working M-F with alternating weekends.
- Support and assist alongside rehab aide during inpatient shifts.
- Handle weekend requirements, working every other Saturday or Sunday, with a compensatory day off during the week.
- Opportunity to sign up for holiday shifts.
- Adhere to dress code of dark pants and burgundy dress shirts or polos.
- Utilize Phillips tele monitoring and follow hospitalist or intensivist guidance.
- Engage with varying shift schedules and partake in a structured orientation comprising one day hospital orientation followed by 2-3 days of unit-specific orientation.
- Treat and manage patients with conditions such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), stroke, cardiac rehab, orthopedic conditions, amongst others.
- Must be able to effectively float between hospital units and to acute rehab as required.
- Prefer candidates with experience in outpatient or home health settings and those with a background in working with physical disabilities.
- While travelers are not required to handle pediatric cases, exposure to conditions like lymphedema, vestibular issues, and wound care in pediatric patients is a plus.
- Familiarity with the Cerner charting system.
- Hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
