Job Details
A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ICU RN for a travel assignment.
The right candidate will have 2 years of experience.
Job Requirements
Hold an active BLS certification.
Hold an active ACLS certification.
Hold an active NIH certification.
Hold an active CA license.
Schedule Information
12 hr Nights
Every other weekend required
First to Float
Unit Specific Information
Unit : ICU
beds : 16 and can go to 20 beds
Ratios : 1 : 1, 1 : 2
Charge Nurse : yes and doesn't carry patients
Nurse Aides : No
Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend & would be required to fill in gaps in wknd schedule
Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Adults & Peds - MedSurg, Neuro, Balloon pumps, cranies, occasional ICP, CABG, some trauma that aren't transferred out, psych - OD, peds minor / DKA, TPA, hypothermia, ECMO, Impalla, CRRT - PrismaFlex, TAVR, & EVAR, may start doing carotid stenting, ECOS, IABP (not required to be able to do would have to get checked off)
Additional Details
Holiday RTO will be considered, however not guaranteed
Unit : ICU

EMR : Cerner
Charge Nurse : yes and doesn't carry patients
Nurse Aides : No
Call : Must be within 30 minutes of hospital; driven by census and call would always be a shift originally scheduled and got put on call
Holidays : Work in to the holiday schedule
Scrub Color : Navy
Tele : Phillips
Vents : Yes Draeger Vents - per RT
Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : 24 hr intensivist (on call at night)
IV Team : IV team during the day
RT 24 / 7 : Yes
Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes
Shifts : depending on census / staffing mismatch nurse could be on call (30 minute response time) 8s & 12s (mostly 12s)
Floating : float to tele 4 to 1
Floor specific orientation : 2 shifts in ICU then on own 3rd shift
