Temporary Admissions Administrative Assistant Support

Temporary / Short-term

Responsibilities :

  • Communication & Customer Service :

Maintain and manage the Admissions Office's main phone line, answering inquiries and directing calls as needed.

  • Respond to emails from prospective students, families, and other stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Make outbound calls and send follow-up emails to prospective students and families regarding admissions processes, deadlines, and requirements.
  • File Management :
  • Work with first-year (FR), graduate (Grad), and transfer (Tr) student application files.

  • Upload and organize documents into the admissions system, ensuring accurate and complete records.
  • Admissions Operations Support :
  • Assist with assembling and preparing print materials for prospective student mailings, including brochures, application packets, and other promotional materials.

  • Coordinate with the Admissions team to execute various tasks related to recruitment and enrollment processes.
  • Administrative Duties :
  • Provide general administrative support, including data entry, filing, and organizing materials for office use.

  • Support additional tasks or projects as needed by the Admissions Office.
  • Qualifications :

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn admissions-related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Previous experience in administrative support or a customer service role is preferred.
  • Schedule :

    This is a temporary position with flexible hours based on office needs. Availability during regular business hours is required.

    Dominican University New York, located in Orangeburg, New York, is 17 miles north of New York City, with approximately 1,400 students and 400 faculty and staff.   There is a wide range of academic programs for students to choose from with more than 30 undergraduate and graduate programs in business, education, liberal arts, nursing, occupational therapy, organizational leadership and communication, and physical therapy.
