Position Summary:
The Rosary College of Arts and Sciences (RCAS) at Dominican University (River Forest, IL) is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time adjunct faculty position to teach online courses in web technologies and methodologies in the Master of Arts in Software Development Program (MSSD).
The applicant should have proficiency and professional experience with two or more of the following: PHP, JavaScript, React, Angular, jNode, Agile Methodologies, Github Copilot , and or .NET Core MVC.
We seek candidates who hold degrees in their field, demonstrate previous software training experience, or possess significant industry experience in the field of server-side technologies. Prior teaching experience is a plus, but not essential.
Candidates monitor progress, coach, and evaluate students online using prepared course content in the academic summer session for 8-weeks, online starting May 12, 2025.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university.
- 5 years of professional experience related to server-side web technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university.
- College-level teaching, bootcamp, or professional trainer experience.
Responsibilities:
Adjunct faculty are responsible for the following:
- Adhering to the university policies, procedures, and university calendar with respect to reporting information to university offices.
- Administering student evaluation and timely and accurately submit the required paperwork related to instruction, including grades and course evaluations.
- Grading weekly assignments, responding to student emails and phone calls promptly, and providing feedback in a timely manner.
- Preparing course materials, including writing test questions and delivering assignments appropriate to the subject matter.
- Meeting with students and hosting office hours.
- Adhering to the goals and objectives of the course, as guided by the Department Chair.

Salary and FLSA Status
- Salary: $1,000 - $5,000. The actual pay is determined based on credentials, course level, and credit hours. Pay could differ for directed study courses.
