POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Student Ambassadors represent and promote DU to prospective students, their families, and other guests, often, sharing the first impression of campus. Our Student Ambassadors play a vital role in the admission process by creating a positive and exciting campus experience and encouraging prospective students to choose DU.
JOB COMPONENTS//PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide high-impact campus tours that highlight our academic rigor, intentional affordability, values-based/relationship-centered learning environment and your firsthand experiences at DU.
- Provide personalized campus tours and visits to guests based on academic, athletic and experiential interests.
- Support on-campus visit activities and programs such as open houses, receptions, admitted student events, panels, and group visits.
- Develop relationships online through our chat platform, Unibuddy. Duties include but are not limited to: responding to messages, and supporting ongoing student engagement.
- Learn from other members of DU as well as campus partners to foster opportunities for connection and belonging at Admission sponsored events.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a Dominican University student in good standing and not on Academic or Disciplinary probation.
- Must complete the Student Ambassador Canvas course and training modules.
- Must be available to attend all Student Ambassador continuous (in-person or virtual) learning sessions.
- Must have the availability to work evenings, during break periods, and weekends to support special events.

- Possess immense enthusiasm and pride for DU with a desire to share your story and experiences.
- Demonstrated skills for hospitality, customer service and creating high-impact experiences.
- Demonstrated commitment to the work of Undergraduate Admissions and desire to share in the mission and goals of the department.
- Must be enrolled at least part-time, degree-seeking student status at Dominican University.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work with diverse groups.
- Dependable, outgoing, motivated and proactive - a “self-starter,” willing to take initiative.
- Possess the ability to listen, problem-solve, and react quickly.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This is a paid hourly position and does not count toward work study hours (this means you can hold another position on campus). Student Ambassadors can expect their hours to vary week-by-week based on campus events and campus tour opportunities. This position also includes a recognition program with meaningful experiences and awards.
