The position of Lecturer, Physician Assistant Studies at Dominican University is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced healthcare professional to join our team. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to excellence in academic medicine.
The role involves teaching and service responsibilities at both the department and college levels, as well as engagement with professional organizations and community service. The position includes one weekday allocated for clinical practice, to be determined in collaboration with the Program Director and/or BCHS Dean.
About the Role
- Serve as course director and instructor for PAS courses, following the BCHS/PAS faculty workload guidelines.
- Design and implement course content that aligns with the PAS curriculum's student learning outcomes.
- Participate in Return to Campus Days, simulation and skills activities, and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
- Engage in Capstone advising and mentoring, as well as student remediation efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited PA program with a Master's degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies.
- Current Illinois PA licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Illinois.
- Experience as a practicing PA for a minimum of 3 years.
- NCCPA certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of clinical experience.
- Experience in the classroom or clinical teaching.
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
- Highly motivated, team player with a strong work ethic, and possesses a high level of collaborative competencies.
