POSITION: Education & Special Programs Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Center for Cultural Liberation
REPORTS TO: Associate Director
HOURS NEEDED PER WEEK: 10 (spring semester), 15 - 20 (summer semester)
HOURLY RATE: $15.00
DATES OF EMPLOYMENT (APPROXIMATE): Spring, Fall and Possible Summer

JOB COMPONENTS//PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and implement training with all CCL staff for students, faculty, and staff
- Collaborate with CCL teams on developments of educational workshops
- Develop educational events on social justice topics including, but not limited to race, ethnicity, immigration, class, first-generation status, religion, gender, gender identity and expression, etc.
- Ensure proactive planning, communication, and evaluation of events
- Participate in planning committee meetings (draft agendas, take notes)
- Collaborate with cultural student organizations, faculty, and staff to plan events
- Assist in managing pre- and on-site registration (tabling, tracking online registrations, event check-in) for all events
- Assist with securing equipment and rentals as needed, catering orders, set-up, tear-down
- Serves on CCL planning committees, in collaboration with The Village, Pillars, and El Centro
- Provides 7 hours a week of in-person office hours
- Performs other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned
BASIC COMPETENCIES: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities)
- Experience with event planning and coordination
- Experience/interest in supporting managing social media sites
- Experience and or interest in learning InDesign, Adobe, Photoshop, Canva, and Illustrator
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment and still meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and follow-up skills
- Dynamic self-starter who takes initiative, highly reliable, and dependable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
- Must be eligible for US employment
- Must be enrolled at least part-time in a degree-seeking undergraduate program at Dominican University
