Position Title: Visiting Lecturer, Social Work
Department: School of Social Work
Reports To: Director, School of Social Work
Location: River Forest Campus
Position Summary:
The SSW is seeking an individual who has clinical experience and expertise in working with children, youth and families to teach in our Social Work program. Applicants with practice experience in working with DCFS and child welfare are especially encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach Master of Social Work courses focusing on inclusive, critical, and active pedagogical approaches in both online/in-person and hybrid formats.
- Participate in School of Social Work meetings and serve on School of Social Work committees.
- Curriculum development with a focus on children, youth, and families.
Required Qualifications:
- MSW and LCSW
- Two years of post-MSW clinical practice experience
- Clinical experience working with children & youth
- A commitment to working with first-generation, immigrant, and/or underrepresented/historically excluded students
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Social Work
- Background in child welfare with appropriate certificates (DCFS certificates & licenses)
Physical Demands:
- Ability to spend long durations of the workday standing, moving around, or sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Salary and FLSA Status
- FLSA Status: Exempt, full-time
- SALARY: $55,500 - $59,500 annually
