Job Summary
Dominion Energy South Carolina has an opening for an E&I Technician in Goose Creek, SC. There is one position available that will be filled at the E&I Technician I, II, or II level, commensurate with the selected candidate’s skills and abilities.
The E&I Technician position is responsible for maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment associated with Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) plants.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to programmable Logic Controllers, motor controls, Variable Frequency Drives, transmitters, breakers and switchgear, pneumatics and hydraulics, AC/DC circuitry, air and/or motor operated valves, and Distributed Control Systems.
Must be able to work as needed at either of the DESC’s LNG Facilities (one is near Goose Creek and the other one is in Salley, SC)
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):
E&I Technician I
0-2 years of experience with the area of mechanical electrical and instrumentation with working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
E&I Technician II
2-4 years’ experience within the area of mechanical electrical and instrumentation with working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). Duties include but are not limited to troubleshooting, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical power systems, low and medium voltage switchgear, AC/DC motors and starters/contactors as well as electrical conduit and stainless-steel tubing installations. Performs routine electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities as needed. This position also works with the Liquified Natural Gas plants personnel to ensure optimal efficiency and maintenance.
E&I Technician III
5 years relevant experience; 2-4 years previous work experience in area of mechanical electrical and instrumentation with working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). Must be able to train, coach, and mentor E&I less experienced technicians. Must have a strong understanding of AC and DC electoral theory to include knowledge of electrical symbols and formulas.

Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving history
Requires and is subject to overtime and unscheduled callout work after hours, on weekends and holidays.
Must be able to occasionally work outdoors and during inclement weather, standing for prolonged periods of time and some heavy lifting. must be able to wear a respirator and maintain annual respirator requalification.
Must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and instrument and electrical schematics.
Must be able to use precision measuring tools.
Periodic testing throughout your employment will be required for all levels.
Must be able to wear a respirator and maintain annual respirator requalification.
Must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and instrument and electrical schematics must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education Requirements
Preferred
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
High School Diploma required.
Preferred: Associate's degree in electrical systems engineering Technology is preferred.
