What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN Contract Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner position at Dominion Medical Consulting?
Dominion Medical Consulting is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to perform general medical examinations for the Social Security Administration. This is an independent contractor, 1099 position. You would work alongside a medical assistant in our outpatient facility.
Exams are a thorough head-to-toe physical assessment, with muscle strength and joint ROM included. Examinations are low risk. No provider-patient relationship is established and you would not be responsible for ordering any tests, medications, or follow-up. Right now, there is enough work to support one full day (8:00-5:00) per month. This is a great moonlighting/side-gig opportunity, but not full-time. Currently we predominantly weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday availability preferred).
Work will be contracted out on an as-needed basis. Set your own schedule and work as much or as little as you would like. Reimbursement is $50 per completed report and appointments are scheduled every 30 minutes, which should give you plenty of time to complete your exam and report all at once without having to take much paperwork home.
Claimant files would be sent to you ahead of time so that you can review records and pre-chart if desired. Templates and information about what should be included in examinations would also all be provided. You would also be reimbursed for mileage. You do not have to make the determination about whether or not a claimant is disabled.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking entrepreneurship, additional streams of revenue, or a way to stay active in retirement. We look forward to meeting with you!
