Job Description
- Assist and train individuals in a home setting to enable the individual to maintain health status, develop skills in IADL’s and adapting to community and home environments. Empower and support each individual in developing their own lifestyle.
- Train in functional skills related to personal care (Toileting, bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, etc.)
- Train in function skills related to use of community resources (transportation, shopping social and recreational activities, etc.)
- Monitor health and physical condition and assistance with medication and or medical needs if applicable.
- Assist with personal care, ADLs and use of community resources (completing personal care tasks when physically unable to do so, ensure hygiene and eating needs are met, complete daily tasks)
- Supervise to ensure individuals health and safety at all times
- Training in adapting behavior for home and community (redirecting anger, handling social encounters with others, developing a circle of support)
Qualifications
HS Diploma, valid driver's license, and 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities
