Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs.
• Operate cash registers and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Process customer purchases efficiently while ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to effectively upsell items.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.
• Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance and support.
• Utilize Point of Sale (POS) systems for transactions and inventory management.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and change calculation.
• Experience in a grocery store setting is preferred but not required.
• Proficient in cash handling procedures and operations of cash registers.
• Ability to supervise others effectively when required.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers.
• Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries or complaints over the phone.
• Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous.
• Skills in upselling products to enhance customer satisfaction and sales performance.
