The General Laborer in the Converting Department is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of converting raw materials into finished paper tissue products. This role requires a hands-on approach to support machine operation, quality control, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
With seven converting lines and two paper machine production lines –for paper towels and bath tissue – the Hialeah Mill is a 24/7 operation.
You will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).

Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation Support:
- Assist machine operators in setting up, monitoring, and operating converting equipment.
- Ensure smooth flow of materials into and out of machines.
- Respond promptly to equipment jams or malfunctions under supervision.
- Material Handling:
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products.
- Transport materials within the facility using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if certified).
- Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products for defects and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure that products meet company quality standards.
- Housekeeping:
- Maintain cleanliness in the work area by sweeping, removing debris, and disposing of waste materials.
- Follow sanitation protocols to comply with company and regulatory standards.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other team members to achieve production goals.
- Communicate effectively regarding operational status or any required assistance.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as requested by the supervisor to support departmental or company operations.
