The location in Owensboro, KY, is seeking talent to fill the position of HR Advisor.
The HR Advisor partners with corporate and site leadership to grow the organizational culture to an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes safety, empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards by goal attainment. Ensure site is aligned with Corporate HR initiatives. Works collaboratively with the other HR Advisors to deliver consistent, comprehensive programs aimed at enhancing employee engagement; learning & development; and talent management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with plant manager and others in providing assistance to promote increased employee performance and organizational development. Evaluate programs and practices to ensure they remain consistent with plant and HR goals and objectives.
- Develops, coordinates & implements lifecycle recruiting including advertising, interviewing, drug testing, new hire paperwork, and new hire orientation.
- Develop, update, and support local site policies and maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times. Policies include Collective Bargaining Agreement, Human Resources, Policies and Procedures.
- Training of all team members including employee and supervisory developmental classes. Training includes new hire orientation, supervisory/team lead orientation, HR & Corporate support-based training.
- Abide by all state and federal laws and guidelines including understanding of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, National Labor/Employee Relations Act and working knowledge of OSHA. Provide support to all employees for Benefits and Leave of Absence. Administer leave of absence programs and provide guidance to employees and management for all federal and state leave.
- Perform general Labor Relations on a daily basis.
- Responsible for understanding, interpretation and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Grievance Processing including investigation, responding to and meeting with Union representatives on disputes.
- Participating in Quarterly Labor Management Meetings.
- Drafting proposed disciplinary and administrative actions such as proposed suspensions, suspension decisions, reprimands, and performance-based actions.
- Day-to-day operational employee relations support including counseling managers on basic employee relations.
- Administrator of Policies and Procedures and the collective bargaining agreement.
- Be an advocate for site specific and corporate-wide activities that enhance employee engagement. Provide direction and support for the wellness committee.
- Partner with Corporate HR to lead key HR initiatives across local site in the areas of Compensation; Policy and Procedure Administration; Talent Management; and Training & Development.
- Lead staffing activities to identify employees, matching the plant’s needs and core values. Oversee HR administration. Explore, implement, and oversee organizational changes. Maintain a positive work environment. Establish communication methods and employee involvement programs.
- Successfully complete all other duties and assigned projects necessary to support plant operations.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources and/or Labor Relations
Experience:
5-7 years of Human Resources Generalist/Labor Relations experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Proven working knowledge of current Human Resources practices & techniques, and proven ability to effectively apply them in the workplace.
Basic experience with an ATS system, running I-9 verifications, and ordering background & drug screens.
Advanced proficiencies in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); Ability to work effectively both independently, collaboratively, and cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills and timely decision-making ability.
Good communicator at all levels of organization to include listening, writing, and presenting.
Self-sufficient, results-oriented with a commitment to quality, service, and customer satisfaction.
