The location in Grenada, Mississippi seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Supervisor.
Primary Purpose:
This position is responsible for supervision and leadership of the mechanical maintenance crews in the TMP, Utilities, and Woodyard departments for Resolute Newsprint, Grenada Operations. Starts the work day with a Safety review of work to be performed. The supervisor is required to lead a team, schedule repairs, and coach employees in the millwright trade while placing extreme emphasis on following all safety policies and procedures. Monitor work to ensure all precision expectations have been met before returning any equipment to operation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe working environment mill wide. Ensure safety & environmental policies adherence in the mechanical maintenance department.
- Ensure Maintenance Best Practices procedures are followed, to include workflow, scheduling, and job completion.
- Provide feedback to Maintenance & Eng Manager on maintenance issues.
- Interface with maintenance, OMC, and operations supervisors to develop short and long-term maintenance plans and projects.
- Represent Domtar in dealing with outside maintenance contractors and vendors as required.
- Identify and provide any necessary training for technicians to achieve maintenance goals.
- Audit jobs for proper workmanship and cleanliness.
- Audit jobs to assure safety protocols are being followed and timely repairs are being done.
- Manage area overtime and material costs.
- Manage area vacation scheduling process.
- Must be available for on call rotation for mill maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 10 years mechanical maintenance experience in a multi-craft environment.
- High level of verbal and written skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate multiple processes.
- Demonstrated ability to schedule, assign, coordinate, and follow up on multiple jobs on a daily basis.
- Prior experience with SAP or other CMMS is a plus
