Job Description
The role of Wood Procurement Forester involves various responsibilities in accordance with established deadlines to sustainably procure pulpwood and quality chips necessary to meet the production demands of the mill at the lowest cost. This includes negotiating wood supply, establishing pricing, and delivery terms, building relationships with loggers, wood suppliers, and others in the wood supply chain.
Your Role: As part of our team, you will have various responsibilities including managing inventory and overseeing operations at satellite chipping facilities, working within budget frameworks to establish cost/volume goals and forecasts, and ensuring that all relevant safety standards are adhered to during mill operations and wood delivery.
- Negotiating wood supply, establishing pricing, and delivery terms.
- Build relationships with loggers, wood suppliers, and others in the wood supply chain.
- Work closely with suppliers to assure continuity of wood supply to match mill usage rates.
- Manage inventory and oversee operations at satellite chipping facilities.
