The location in Glenwood, (Arkansas, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Utility. This job is full-time permanent.
Overview: The Domtar Glenwood Mill is currently seeking an entry-level utility worker. The successful candidate will be a motivated and skilled individual with a safety mindset to do all aspects of clean up inside and outside the mill. Employees must have mechanical aptitude, basic computer and math skills, decision-making and communication skills, as well as the ability to be flexible and work in a team environment. Employees must be able to work outdoors in all weather and must be able to wear safety equipment, such as a hard hat, ear plugs, safety shoes, and safety glasses. Employees may be required to use a shovel, air hose, and rake. Employees must be able to climb ladders and high stairways; the position requires physical endurance, and the ability to work in a hot and humid environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Clean up mill floor while the mill is running, using brooms, shovels and wheelbarrows.
- Clean up accessible wood debris, run through the chipper using axes and chain saws.
- Clean up sawmill equipment when the mill shuts down using proper lock out/tag out and fall protection procedures.
- Perform basic math skills such as counting, addition and multiplication for tally sheets.
- Ability to constantly bend and twist body.
- Ability to constantly reach with arms and use hands to maneuver material.
- Ability to stand continuously on asphalt/concrete.
- Ability to work respectfully with others.
- Keep work areas clean and follow all safety guidelines.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Work is performed on a variety of flooring surfaces such as: cement, asphalt, wood and expanded metal.
- Worker is subject to climb several flights of expanded metal stairs several times per day, going from the bottom to the mill floor and to other areas in the mill.
- Some work is performed under cover with ambient temperatures.
- Some work is performed outdoors on a covered and elevated catwalk (approx. 4 feet).
- 1-year mill manufacturing or experience in an industrial setting preferred.
- Must be able to work day and/ or night shift hours with O.T. as needed.
- Must be willing to work on some weekends.
