What We’re Looking For:
As a Parts Assistant at Don Ayres Honda in Fort Wayne, Indiana, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our automotive dealership. You will work closely with our technicians and service advisors to provide support in ordering, receiving, stocking, and issuing parts while maintaining accurate inventory records. This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry, with opportunities for growth and development within the company.
A dedicated Parts Assistant is a motivated individual who supports our growing business by assisting the parts and service department. The ideal candidate will flourish in a fast-paced and professional workplace. Responsibilities include running parts throughout the dealership and to external customers. Additional responsibility will include stocking, inventory, and assisting parts counter sales.
Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting auto parts weighing up to 50 lbs. FREQUENT WALKING is required for this position.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday-Friday, day shift with varied hours between 7:00am-6:00pm and every other Saturday

Ideal Qualifications Include:

Job Responsibilities Include:
- Delivers parts to technicians in all buildings over 18-acre dealership campus
- Ensures that areas of the parts department are properly stocked
- Deliver parts to independent repair facilities and wholesale customers
- Pick up parts and return parts to local vendors
- Assist on the parts counter: Look up parts, bill parts, fill orders, create orders, and answer phones
- Inventory management: Assist with cycle counts of parts bins and assist with annual physical inventory
- Assist the service department by moving vehicles as needed and delivering vehicles to other repair facilities for sublet repairs
- Gives customers a ride to and from the dealership, if required, when vehicles are brought in for service
- Ensures the cleanliness of the parts department by disposing of used boxes and trash, sweeping floors and dusting parts bins daily
- Crates all cores for shipment back to the manufacturer when part has been replaced
- Put stock order parts in appropriate bins
- Assists in stock order check in if needed
- Assist with the parts sales process from customer inquiry to finding the part to invoicing the customer
- Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations applicable to industry
- Additional miscellaneous duties as needed
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting auto parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
