Event and Marketing Coordinator
Position Overview
The Events and Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the mission of Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club by planning and executing impactful events, driving strategic marketing efforts, and leveraging donor engagement practices. Signature events include Dancing with the CU Stars , Fashion for Great Futures and a Successful Golf Tournament. This position is responsible for managing event marketing updating donor software, coordinating high volumes of social media and press communications, and supporting meaningful, family-centered events that strengthen our community outreach to ensure the success of events and long-term donor relationships. This role is full-time (40 hours per week) and includes excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Event Planning
- Collaborate with the Director of Development, Internal Event Team, and event committees to plan, coordinate, and implement special events that align with program goals and fundraising objectives.
- Attend and lead at Home Football Game Parking Fundraisers
- Maintain and manage the organization’s event marketing and donor database software associated with events for seamless planning and reporting.
- Support programing in family-oriented events that engage the community and recognize donors, sponsors, and program participants.
- Handle event logistics, including vendor negotiations, sponsorship acquisition, scheduling, and securing needed resources.
- Offer on-site event support as the primary point of contact to ensure smooth execution and memorable experiences.
- Regularly evaluate event success using metrics such as revenues generated, attendance, public engagement, and donor impact.
- Monitor and ensure event budgets align with financial targets.
Support strategy
- Use events as a strategy to drive financial support by facilitating sponsor engagement and targeting appropriate donor audiences.
- Support donor acknowledgment processes by managing donor records, entering donations, and producing thank-you letters and materials.
Marketing and Public Relations
- Support strategic marketing efforts to increase public awareness of Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club events, services, and positive impacts.
- Prepare and distribution of press releases, community bulletins, email newsletters, and the Club’s annual report.
- Actively grow the Club’s presence across all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, TikTok) with a high volume of engaging social media campaigns.
- Manage the creation and distribution of social content, such as visually compelling posts and videos, using tools like Canva ..
- Analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies accordingly to boost platform engagement and reach.
- Stay informed about best practices and trends in digital marketing and utilize them to optimize campaign success.
Family-Centered Event Offerings
- Create inclusive events and engagement opportunities that cater to families, fostering a sense of community and connection.
- Act as a Club representative to connect with families, share the Club’s mission, and promote positive participation.
Additional Responsibilities
- Occasionally support program operations and participate in programmatic events when appropriate.
- Attend all fundraising events and assist with their planning and execution as needed.
- Maintain flexibility to accommodate the dynamic schedules of Club events and initiatives.
- Occasionally drive Club vehicles to transport supplies or assist with event logistics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience, preferably in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, public relations, event planning, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating successful events.
- Proficiency or ability to become proficient in operating event and donor software with excellent data entry and organizational skills.
- Strong marketing skills with knowledge of web , social media strategy, and content creation.
- Familiarity with tools like Canva, to develop visually engaging marketing materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience producing engaging press releases and community newsletters.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and nurture positive relationships with donors, families, and community members.
- Passion for the mission and work of Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club, with a commitment to fostering community growth and inclusivity.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Starting Pay: $25 an hour with minimum experience. The pay will align with experience and ability
