Don’s Appliances is seeking reliable, customer-oriented individuals to join the Don’s Appliances team as Delivery and Installation Technicians. We are actively hiring technicians at all levels of experience. Delivery and Installation Technicians are responsible for the delivery and installation of all Don’s Appliances products within the designated delivery area.
Assigned level within the Delivery and Installation job family will be determined based on the successful candidate’s level of education, experience, and licensure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery and Installation Technician Level 1 (DIT1) - Apprentice
- Observe the process of installing appliances
- Ability to handle appliances safely using dollies
- Follow company procedures and protocols
- Ability to read and understand truck routes
- Understanding the package AI Software
- Become familiar with proper installation techniques
- Ensure customer expectations are always met
- Understanding of the use of tools required for the installation of appliances
- Executing safe work habits
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Delivery Installation Technician Level 2 (DIT2)
- Completed all requirements as an apprentice (DIT1)
- Ability to package AI tablet training
- Ability to read route sheets
- Successfully prepare job sites
- Conduct walkthroughs with the customer at a job site
- Perform installations according to company policies and procedures
- Properly clean up and tear down the job site once complete with the installation
- Safely operate the liftgates on the vehicles
- Organize and ensure cleanliness of the vehicles
- Maintain the inventory for the assigned vehicle
- Ensure all customer expectations are met
- Ability to contact customer using package AI
- Ensuring uniform policy is followed
- Ensuring required tools are available for the installation
- Knowledge of tools required for installations
- Proficient with gas lines, water lines, and checking for leaks in these lines
- Ability to communicate with your chain of command as to the status of each job
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Delivery Installation Technician Level 3 (DIT3) – Installation Lead
- Shown proficiency in all of the skills outlined in DIT1 and DIT2
- Completed Medical Department of Transportation physical
- Safe Driver Training Program completed
- Full operation and understanding of tablet and package AI
- Proficiency with job site requirements
- Responsible for vehicle maintenance management and reporting issues to Fleet Manager
- Fully understand customer service expectations
- Proficient with the following installations: Over the counter microwaves, dishwashers, refrigerators, ranges, laundry
- Uniform expectations followed at all times
- Proficient with all tools necessary to complete installations
- Proficiency with gas lines, water lines, and testing for leaks. Able to supervise DIT1 and DIT2 with proper instruction of these lines.
- Leading DIT1 and DIT2 through proper job site execution
- Ability to communicate with the chain of command on the status of each job
- Trained on how to report a work injury
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Delivery Installation Technician Level 4 (DIT4) – Installation Specialist and Trainer
- Level 4 technicians are expected to work at a “Specialist” Level
- Expert knowledge of installation of all brands and types of appliances
- Train team of technicians to work efficiently with their teams and satisfy customer needs
- Main contact point for any technician questions
- Identify issues at job sites and resolve them quickly
- Ability to work and lead a team of technicians through any job site regardless of the situation
- Use technology as needed to enable job site preparation and execution
- Ensure delivery and installation technicians adhere to processes that meet client needs and expectations
- Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships with delivery and installation technicians within the Don’s Appliances network
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements for all jobs within the Delivery and Installation Job Family:
- All applicants must have a high school degree from an accredited school or GED.
- Technical degree in relevant field or relevant training preferred.
- All applicants must have a valid driver's license.
- The incumbent must be able to accept alternative shifts assignments on short notice, work scheduled and nonscheduled overtime and participate in a weekend work rotation.
- Organized with the ability to complete multiple installation jobs in a timely manner daily while providing high levels of customer service.
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and superior customer service skills.
Delivery and Installation Technician Level 1
- 0-1 years of experience in appliance delivery/installation (Delivery and Installation Technician Level 1)
Delivery and Installation Technician Level 2
- 3-5 years of appliance delivery/installation experience (Delivery and Installation Technician Level 2)
Delivery and Installation Technician Level 3
- 5 years of appliance delivery/installation experience (Delivery and Installation Technician Level 3)
Delivery and Installation Technician Level 4
- 5 years of appliance delivery/installation experience (Delivery and Installation Technician Level 3)
License/Certification
