SUMMARY : The ODP Independent Living Coordinator (ILC) reports to the ODP Program Director and will provide a continuum of consumer and community / independent living services through skills training, peer support, and advocacy to promote the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. The ODP ILC must obtain approval on all activities within the service plan from the consumer and all activities outside of the service plan from the consumer. All activities must be carried out in accordance with the Office of Developmental Disabilities Programs (ODP).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : include the following.
Provide independent living skill instruction to consumers with intellectual disabilities.
Provide counseling support services to enhance living effectively with a disability.
Provide peer consultation and skill training instruction to consumers.
Comply with the policies and procedures established by DON Services in the Employee Handbook.
Report all issues and concerns among ODP Coordination Staff to the Manager and / or the Department Director.
Follow goals listed in Individual Service Plan (ISP).
Review all Service Authorization Forms / Individual Support Plans and contact service coordination entities for any corrections or updates.
Maintain ODP ILC caseloads and update and assign new consumers per manager approval.
Schedule Direct Support Professional (DSP) for consumers.
Arrange for back-up DSP care.
Inform Director of problems relating to employed DSPs.
Record reasons of DSP call-offs and / or refusing work.
Verify hours worked by DSPs.
Maintain weekly communication and documentation to meet consumer needs.
Arrange and provide training to DSPs of duties listed in individual service plans, independent living philosophy, and paperwork related to job duties.
Other duties as assigned.

Valid Driver's License Is Required.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
GED or high school diploma; and up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and provide information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, e-mail, or in person. Ability to write, enter, transcribe, record, store, and maintain information in written or electronic form. Ability to speak effectively before groups of consumers or employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION :
IL Coordinator must be able to demonstrate a problem-free record under PA ACT 33 and 34.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Strong people-oriented skills and proficiency using computer programs must be demonstrated.
